Scuola Internazionale del Teatro Gestuale di Stile

Un progetto a cura di Jose Quintana e Simonetta Checchia

La Scuola nasce con l’obiettivo di formare attori e performer attraverso lo studio approfondito del teatro gestuale, del teatro fisico e della voce. La scuola si ispira alle tradizioni teatrali gestuali di tutto il mondo, offrendo un percorso formativo completo e innovativo.

Obiettivi:

• Formare attori e performer capaci di esprimersi attraverso il linguaggio del corpo e della gestualità.
• Approfondire lo studio delle tecniche vocali e del teatro fisico.
• Esplorare le diverse forme di teatro gestuale presenti nel panorama internazionale.
• Promuovere la creatività e l’innovazione nel campo delle arti performative.

Programma Didattico: Il programma didattico della scuola si articola in diversi moduli, ciascuno dedicato a un aspetto specifico del teatro gestuale e delle arti performative:

Teatro Gestuale:

Tecniche di mimo e pantomima moderna stile Marcel Marceau

Mimo corporale drammatico stile Etienne Decroux

Studio delle maschere teatrali

Improvvisazione gestuale

Biogeometria scenica

Teatro Fisico:

Biomeccanica

Danza contemporanea e teatro-danza

Stage combat e Slapstick

Movimento e teatro fisico

Voce:

Tecnica vocale parlata

Dizione e articolazione

Canto e vocalità espressiva

Studio delle diverse tradizioni vocali

Teatro Gestuale del Mondo:

Studio delle tradizioni teatrali gestuali asiatiche (Kabuki, Noh, Kathakali)

Teatro gestuale africano e delle culture indigene

Teatro gestuale europeo (Commedia dell’Arte, Teatro di Figura)

Esplorazione delle nuove forme di teatro gestuale contemporaneo

Metodologia: La scuola adotta un approccio pratico e laboratoriale, con lezioni frontali, workshop intensivi e performance dal vivo. Gli studenti avranno l’opportunità di lavorare a stretto contatto con Jose Quintana e altri esperti del settore, partecipando a progetti creativi e collaborativi.

Durata e Struttura del Corso: Il corso ha una durata di due anni, suddivisi in quattro moduli. Ogni modulo prevede un mix di lezioni teoriche, esercitazioni pratiche e progetti performativi. Durante il corso e al termine, gli studenti avranno l’opportunità di presentare il proprio lavoro in diverse performance aperte al pubblico.

International School of Gestural Theatre

The School was created with the aim of training actors and performers through the in-depth study of Gestural Theatre, Physical Theatre and Voice. Inspired by gestural theatre traditions from around the world, the school offers a complete and innovative training course.

Aims:

– To train actors and performers who are able to express themselves through body language and gesture.

– To deepen the study of vocal techniques and physical theatre.

– To explore the different forms of gestural theatre on the international scene.

– To encourage creativity and innovation in the performing arts.

Didactic Programme:

The educational programme of the into different modules, each dedicated to a specific aspect of gestural theatre and the of Gestural Theatre and the performing arts:

Gestural Theatre:

Mime techniques and modern pantomime in the style of Marcel Marceau

Dramatic body mime in the style of Etienne Decroux

Study of theatrical masks

Gestural improvisation

Scenic biogeometry

Physical theatre:

Biomechanics

Contemporary dance and dance theatre

Stage combat and slapstick

Movement and Physical Theatre

Voice:

Spoken Vocal Technique

Diction and articulation

Singing and expressive voice

Study of various vocal traditions

Gestural theatre of the world:

Study of Asian gestural theatre traditions (Kabuki, Noh, Kathakali)

African gestural theatre and indigenous cultures

European Gestural Theatre (Commedia dell’Arte, Puppet Theatre)

Exploration of new forms of contemporary gesture theatre

Methodology:

The school adopts a practical and laboratory approach, with lectures, intensive workshops and live performances. Students will have the opportunity to work closely with Jose Quintana and other experts in the field, participating in creative and collaborative projects.

Course length and structure:

The course lasts two years and is divided into four modules. Each module includes a mix of theoretical lectures, practical exercises and performance projects. During and at the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to present their work in a series of public performances.
